iPhoto is a good way to help students learn about visual literacy. Looking through a lens gives a person a different perspective. As I teach 'Social Thinking' skills, I could give a student a concept such as 'sad' and have them take pictures of what they think represents that concept. This will be more relevant to them than having them find pictures in magazines or on the internet. Then they could use iphoto to make a slideshow and explain why they chose those photos. Having the visual will help them to communicate verbally.

I used iPhoto to make this 'Word Photo'. It was easy and fast to do once I had the pictures. Students would be able to do this without much direct teaching. Because iPhoto comes on the Mac free this will be great to use.

The hardest part was embedding the slideshow into this wiki. From iPhoto I had to export 'slideshow' using mobile. Then I can upload the "File' on Wiki 'insert files' by going to my 'pictures' then to 'iPhoto slideshow'.
